Lunchtime Mittens
Lunchtime Mittens are simple stockinette mittens (suitable for beginner knitters) that are worked in the round with a ribbed wrist band.
The left and right hands are worked identically. Stripes can be added at the knitter’s discretion by changing yarns.
Sizing
The pattern is written in six sizes to fit kids from about six years old to large adult hands.
Approximate hand length (from tip of middle finger to wrist crease):
Size S Kids: 14 cm (5 ½ inches)
Size M Kids: 15 cm (6 inches)
Size L Kids: 16 cm (6 1/3 inches)
Size S Adult: 17 cm (6 2/3 inches)
Size M Adult: 18.5 cm (7 1/3 inches)
Size L Adult: 20 cm (8 inches)
Yarn
Choose a DK (8 ply) yarn with a gauge of about 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm in stockinette.
Approximate Yardage
Size S Kids: 75 m (80 yards)
Size M Kids: 85 m (95 yards)
Size L Kids: 100 m (110 yards)
Size S Adult: 110 m (120 yards)
Size M Adult: 125 m (135 yards)
