The design
Luz Viviente (Living Light) is a circular yoke sweater inspired by the visions of the saint Hildegard von Bingen. The colorwork pattern in the yoke represents the concentric manifestations of light and stars that the mystic had during her visionary experiences.

Construction overview
This sweater is constructed in the round from the top down. The ribbing for the neck is followed by some short rows shaping. The yoke is worked with a two color stranded colorwork pattern Each size has its own combination of stitches along with the total length of the yoke. At the end of the body another set of short row shaping is worked so the back is longer than the front. The subtle bishop sleeves are achieved by doing some decreases right before the wristband.
In the sample knit I’m wearing a Size 2 and I have an upper chest circumference of 35.25 in or 88 cm.

El diseño
Luz Viviente, un sweater de pechera o canesú circular, está inspirado en las visiones de Hildegard von Bingen. Los motivos de jacquard representan las manifestaciones concéntricas de luces y estrellas que la mística tenía durante sus experiencias visionarias.

Resumen de la construcción
Este sweater se construye desde arriba hacia abajo. Después del cuello, tejido en punto elástico, una sección de vueltas cortas le da forma al escote. Luego, la pechera se trabaja en la técnica de color conocida como jacquard, usando dos colores. Cada talla tiene una combinación propia de esos motivos a lo largo de toda esta sección. Al final del cuerpo, otra sección de vueltas cortas hace que la espalda sea más larga que el delantero. Y las sutiles mangas de obispo se logran con algunas disminuciones antes del puño.
En el tejido de muestra estoy usando la talla 2 y tengo una circunferencia de pecho de 88 cm.
