Cheer on the home team! This pattern is for a matching hat and mittens in Selbuvotter-style knitting featuring the classic “Block M” for University of Michigan.

The pattern calls for Jamieson Spindrift. To make both the hat and mittens you will need:

  • 260 m of the main color,
  • 170 m of contrasting color 1 (blue),
  • 50 m of contrasting color 2 (gold)

The design is for Ladies’ medium for both hat and mittens, but size can be adjusted through gauge adjustment or changing needle size and/or fiber weight.

The pattern is 8 stitches to the inch on US size 1.5 needles. Mittens are worked in the round on double point needles and the hat is worked on 16-inch circular needles in the round. Hat is finished with double point needles as stitches decrease for the crown.
