The Macramé pullover is knitted seamlessly from the top-down starting at the neckband. The back is raised with short-rows to improve the fit. A beautiful lace and cable pattern is worked on the yoke. The sleeves and body are separated at the underarm and knitted separately.
The body is cropped so it’s perfect to pair with a dress, a skirt or a pair of high waisted pants, but the length is easily modified for a longer pullover.
Note that changing the length of the body will affect the amount of yarn needed to finish the pullover, so if you want it longer, make sure you get a few extra balls of yarn.
CONSTRUCTION NOTES
- Top is knitted seamless from the top down with raglan sleeves.
- Short-rows are used to raise the back neckline for a comfortable fit.
- With the exception of the few short-rows, all the top is worked in the round.
- After work the raglan increases and lace pattern, sleeves are put on hold to knit the body in Stockinette stitch.
- Sample uses a cotton yarn, but it can work well on silk or other plant based yarns, like linen, rayon, and tencel (either pure or mixed). If you prefer, you can also use wool or wool blends, this pattern is quite flexible.
