MAGDALENAS Cardigan is a warm, generously sized cardigan. It is worked top-down and the length can easily be adjusted. The colour pattern is created by holding two strands of yarn in different colours together.
The cardigan begins at the upper back with increases at both row ends, shaping a refined shoulder line. Stitches are then picked up along the two slanted edges to form the shoulders. The shoulders and front pieces are worked until the armhole depth is reached, after which the back and fronts are joined.
Stitches are picked up around the armholes to knit the sleeves in the round. Additional stitches are picked up along the neckline to work the ribbed edging.
The buttonhole at the neckline and the lowest one in the ribbing are worked during knitting. The remaining buttonholes are added afterwards, allowing flexibility in the cardigan length and the number of buttonholes. As a variation, you can choose to work only the neckline buttonhole, so the cardigan can be worn with a single button.
This pattern is suitable for experienced knitters.

MAGDALENAS Cardigan ist ein warmer Cardigan, der großzügig geschnitten ist. Er wird von oben nach unten gestrickt und lässt sich in der Länge individuell anpassen. Das Farbmuster entsteht durch das 2-fädige Stricken mit zwei verschiedenen Farben.
Der Cardigan beginnt am oberen Rücken mit Zunahmen an beiden Reihenenden, die eine definierte Schulterlinie formen. Danach werden für die Schultern Maschen aus beiden entstandenen Schrägen aufgenommen. Es werden die Schultern und die Vorderseiten gestrickt, bis die Höhe der Armausschritte erreicht ist und dann werden Rückseite und Vorderseiten miteinander verbunden.
Rund um die Armausschnitte werden Maschen aufgenommen, mit denen die Ärmel in Runden gestrickt werden. Mit aufgenommenen Maschen am Halsausschnitt wird das Rippenbündchen gearbeitet.
Das Knopfloch am Halsausschnitt und das unterste im Bündchen entstehen direkt beim Stricken. Die anderen Knopflöcher werden nachträglich eingearbeitet. So entsteht Flexibilität in der Länge des Cardigans und bei der Anzahl der Knopflöcher. Eine mögliche Variation ist auch, nur das Knopfloch am Halsausschnitt zu stricken, sodass der Cardigan mit einem Knopf getragen wird.
