Doesn’t this hat look fun? Make it for a fan or collector as a birthday or Christmas gift, or make it for yourself! It’s sure to bring smiles to all who see you wearing it.

NOTE: By request, the pattern has been updated, so that it no longer requires the Tyee Fish Hat pattern to make the Magic Carp hat!

The different sizes are achieved by using different hook sizes--using a 5.5 mm hook gave me an 18” head size, while using a 7mm the size was about 22” (not stretched). As you begin the hat at the Fish’s mouth, it’s easy to measure or try on after a few rounds to make sure the size is right.

The adult size hat uses less than a full skein of Red Heart Supersaver for the main colour, and approximately 50g each of white, yellow, and pink.

If you find an error in the pattern or if you need any help with the pattern, please contact me!

I have not put stitch counts in on every row--if you have any difficulty, please write to me on Ravelry or through my blog or Facebook page. Please refer to photos to help with my personal colour choice for fins and other trim, as I may have missed writing all these into the pattern--of course, as with all knitting and crochet designs, you may use any colours you like to make it!**
