The Magnolia crochet beret is made vertically, flat, in one piece. Repeating panels are connected as you go. The Magnolia stitch pattern is created using short rows and slip-stitch variations smoothly integrated into the ribbing. Sewn with one stitch with a tapestry needle.

Panel stitch height variations are based on a foundation chain:
  1. Panel 36 – chain 36 sts, 5 panels.

  2. Panel 40 – chain 40 sts, 5-6 panels.

The choice can depend on your head circumference, the gauge swatch measurements, and your preferences.

The panel of the Magnolia stitch pattern is very wide, which is why it can consist only of 5 or 6 panels.

Language: English

Crochet level: Higher intermediate.
You need to know how to make a foundation chain, a slip stitch, and a yarn over slip stitch. To be ready to learn some slip stitch modifications that are creating the stitch pattern and to be able to follow the instructions carefully.

Inside:
• The pattern on 28 pages contains charts, written instructions, links to special stitch videos, and step-by-step photo and mute video tutorials with English karaoke-style subtitles on the gauge swatch and the connecting stitch.
• Convenient navigation inside the pattern.
Crochet hooks: 4 mm – 5.5 mm.

Size: not specified. The pattern is based on your calculations. Hence:

  • Prepare the gauge and take its measurements.

  • Make your calculations.

  • Choose one of the 2 provided Instructions to fit your size and design.

    Materials:

  1. Yarn: choose any yarn suitable for a 4 mm – 5.5 mm crochet hook. 150g. Solid colours, tweeds, hand-dyed yarns. Variegated yarns will obscure the stitch pattern but can add other interesting effects. Z twist yarns make very different stitch definitions, and not all of them can be recommended.
  2. Tapestry needle for the connecting stitch and weaving in.
