Magpies are beautiful birds from the crow family with iridescent feathers.
They are extremely intelligent and are known to steal shiny objects.
This shawlette pays homage to these bandit birds with a delicate feather motif, sleek, silky yarn and a multitude of glittering beads.
Worked from the top down, the shawl employs short rows to create the curved garter section. Once the short rows are complete, a deceptively simple lace pattern.
The shawlette is wide, but shallow giving it a versatile
shape that can be worn draped around the shoulders
as a shawl or wrapped around the neck elegant scarf.
Dress up a pair of jeans, or add that special touch to that little black dress. Explore the world of colour with different combinations of yarn and beads — the possibilities for this shawlette are endless.

Pattern is charted only. Beads are optional. Beads added using the crochet hook method.
