Mail Clad Cowl
This pattern is part of The Bendigo Project, 2026 and will be published on Saturday 28th of March 2026.
The theme for The Bendigo Project in 2026 is Texture & Twist, a delightful exploration of knit and crochet textured stitch patterns and cables.
The Bendigo Project Knitalong will commence on Saturday 28th of March at 7.30pm via Zoom, and will conclude with a meet up at The Australian Sheep and Wool Show, in Bendigo, Saturday July 18th 2026.
Check out our Website, where you can find more information about kits and other patterns in the collection: www.thebendigoproject.com
This cowl was designed because I fell in love with this twisted stitch motif during the designing of the Mail Clad Vest, and the Mail Clad Princess socks.
Knit using 4ply yarn on larger needles, this is a great introduction to twisted stitches and knitting in the round.
I used Wyndara Black Sheep 4ply Polwarth yarn, and 3.75mm needles, but you can use any 4ply that you like, so long as you get a texture you’re happy with.
Design features: Knit in the round, broken ribbing, twisted stitches, bottom up, sewn bind off, cable cast on.
Pattern Information:
If you are new to twisted stitches, I strongly recommend the use of lifelines, and to use stitch markers to highlight where your pattern repeats are.
