Designed using Bombed Yarns Dynamite 8ply and Dynamite 4ply Sock, with the colourway “Miss Marple’s Full Briefs”, as part of the 2026 Knit for The Girls fundraiser for breast cancer research.

This pattern is actually TWO cowls. One is designed in 8ply, for a thick, squishy cowl to get you through cold winters. The other is designed in 4ply yarn, a light, breezy, long cowl for those cool spring mornings that brighten into warm days.

I love things that are created to be mindful, simple, and pretty. Building off that premise, I wanted to feature lace that wasn’t too tricky, and this 4 row motif felt perfect. The left and right leaning decreases, paired with the yarn overs make for a cute, travelling lace pattern that is framed by columns of twisted stitches. It’s a simple, pretty cowl that anyone can make.
