Mailen is a name of Mapuche culture, in its language called Mapudungún (the language of the earth).

Mailen means princess, but it is not the same concept that is handled in occidental.

For the Mapuches, princess is synonymous with a powerful, noble and intelligent woman.

The Mapuches or people of the earth, live in southern Argentina and Chile, in the territory they call Araucanía, since before the Spanish conquest.
 
They are inhabitants and not owners of the land. They take care of it, protect it and are part of it. They are the guardians.

However, there are those who say they should not be there. There are those who believe they have the right to comment on their culture and customs. There are those who say they have to go.
 
Today, this original culture, like so many others, is being silently but brutally eliminated.

This project is in honor of them.

This Sweater has a Top-Down construction, that is to say, it begins with the ribbing of the neck, then comes the short rows on the back, the yoke, sleeves and body are separated, the body is continued until the waist, pick up sts of arms and work until the ribbing.
This design has a positive ease of 15 cm approx. with respect to the bust measurement and 4 cm with respect to the arm circumference measurement, very loose boxy style, that is to say that you have to look well at your measurements and the final measurements of the garment, especially in bust circumference and arms to choose the correct size.

Hoy en día, este pueblo originario, como tantos otros, está siendo eliminado de manera silenciosa pero brutal.

Éste proyecto es en honor a ellos.

Es mi pequeño granito de arena, desde mi pequeño lugar, desde mi pequeño corazón.

Si vas a utilizar circulares, te recomiendo un cable de al menos 80 cm.

Cuenta vueltas (opcional pero muy recomendable)

Este Sweater tiene una construcción Top-Down, de arriba hacia abajo, es decir que se comienza con el elástico del cuello, luego vienen las vueltas cortas en la nuca, el canesú, se separan mangas y cuerpo, se continúa con el cuerpo hasta la cintura, se retoman los puntos de las mangas hasta su elástico.
Su holgura es positiva de 15 cm aprox. con respecto a la medida de pecho y 4 cm con respecto a la medida de circunferencia de brazo, estilo boxy muy holgado, es decir que tienes que mirar bien tus medidas y las medidas finales de la prenda, sobre todo en contorno de pecha y contorno de brazos para escoger la talla correcta.
