This is a very easy pattern to make. It uses only knit and purl stitches. Gauge doesn’t really matter -- you can make the washcloth larger (wider) by adding more stitches in multiples of 3. Instructions are included to make a wider cloth, and it can be made longer simply by knitting additional rows.

You can use a solid color yarn, or a multi-color, but the pattern shows up a little better if you use a solid color.

If you use Sugar ‘n Cream solid color yarn, you should easily get two washcloths out of one ball of yarn, depending on how wide you make them. If you use Sugar ‘n Cream ombre yarn, you will only get one washcloth out of the ball.

If you use Knit Picks Dishie yarn, you should be able to get three washcloths out of one ball, depending on the size of the cloths (see my notes in the pattern).
