A new addition to the Mallow family, these mittens are richly decorated with a cable-looking design that doesn’t involve a single cable. It is composed of traveling stitches, a combination of simple increases and decreases. Gentle mallow flowers symbolize health and protection, and Mallow mittens carry this sentiment along with the coziness and comfort.

Two mittens are knit in a slightly different manner to accommodate the ergonomic thumbs. Stretchy ribbing on the palms is decorated with columns of wrapped stitches. The patterns open up beautifully when worn with a bit of negative ease. Both the charts and written row-by-row instructions are provided.

  • The mittens are knit from the bottom up seamlessly in the round.

  • Increases for thumbs are worked into the palms, then thumb stitches are placed on hold and finished after the mittens are completed.

  • The central panel has both the written row-by-row instructions and the charts.

  • The palms, thumb, and cuffs are worked in 2x1 rib decorated with columns of wrapped stitches.

  • The right and left mitten mirror each other, so directions for them are different.
