Margo Batwing Sweater/Top
❤️ The MARGO Batwing Sweater/Top/Blouse.
The Margo Sweater is the debut design of the evolving Margo collection designed for the free-spirited woman. This collection is for those who defy norms and boldly declare their own style with confidence, while carrying an authentic, delicate femininity.
It is a delicate yet bold piece that plays with volume and texture. The perfect match for women who are both feminine and rebellious, and it is incredibly satisfying to crochet and wear.
✨ Design Highlights
-
Bold Silhouette: The design combines a stunning bat-wing silhouette and open sleeves with a defined, snug fit at the waist and wrists.
-
Lacy Texture: A light, lacy pattern using the Side Saddle Stitch, providing a comfortable stretch, a beautiful drape, and a captivating look.
-
Artisanal Construction: Worked top-down in two flat panels (front and back) and seamed for a stable, high-quality finish.
-
Signature Sleeve Details: Includes decorative cords on the arms – a bold, rebellious touch that defines the Margo aesthetic.
✨ Materials & Specs
-
Skill Level: Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate. This pattern is ideal for crocheters who have mastered the basics and wish to expand their skills. Includes detailed row-by-row instructions and a photo tutorial.
-
Yarn: Aran / Worsted / 10-ply weight. I used Drops Paris, but any equivalent yarn works beautifully.
-
Hook Sizes: 6.0 mm (main body) and 5.0 mm (arm cords).
-
Sizing: Pattern covers sizes from XS to 5XL.
-
Language: Standard US crochet terminology.
❤️ A Note from the Designer:
The Margo sweater is more than just a pattern to me; it is a reflection of my own duality of strength and softness. So, if you feel like me and want a piece that shows off your inner contrasts instead of hiding them, this design is for you.
And stay tuned, as the Margo Collection is evolving — with an amazing matching skirt on the way, and it will continue to grow! I can’t wait to see your versions of Margo. Thank you for supporting my journey and for letting my designs be part of your handmade wardrobe.
Happy Stitching!
