Marika Shawl
“Marika” is a lace semi-circular shawl, worked from top down flat in rows, featuring the mock cable lace stitch pattern and horizontal decorative border. Textured pattern on body – «Solomon’s knot» is never boring and always stunning.
Skill Level: Intermediate.
Original yarn: 165 g of Siulas Linen 3ply (100% linen), 600 m (656 yds) per 100 g (3.5 oz) skein.
Alternative: Midara Linas, 100% linen, 300 m (328 yds) per 50 g (1.75 oz) skein. However, choose some woolen fibers: Haapsalu, Kauni 6/1 solid color etc.
Circular knitting needles 48’’ (120 cm) length cable: US 6 (4 mm) for main body, US 7 (4.5 mm) for bottom border.
Notions: 3 stitch markers; luneville (tambour) hook and 10 g of glass beads (size 8) to embroider on the finished shawl (optionally).
This knitting pattern is in English (US terms). It includes the step-by-step written directions, photos as an extra visual support, the detailed Lace stitch Charts; special knitting techniques are carefully explained. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact me for assistance.
Sincerely yours,
Marina Gorshtein.
