Knit this lightweight smokestack-style cowl to keep you warm on those cold foggy days! It is constructed as a long slightly tapered tube, and blocked to measurements like a lace shawl, to open up the soft-textured stitch pattern. Yarns with some elasticity will work best for this cowl; the sample in the photos is 100% wool fingering weight.

Instructions are provided for working in the round or working flat on straight needles, and they also include a link to a great video for learning a simple special stitch! No cable needle is required for this pattern, and I provide the stitch multiple needed for making the circumference wider, if desired.

Pattern is written in American terminology.
