Market Scarf
The Market Scarf is a small, simple accessory designed to add something extra to your everyday outfit. It’s the kind of scarf you can throw on before heading out to the market to pick up fresh fruit or flowers, trés chic and effortless! You can wear it tied loosely around your neck or tucked into your bag for later. This project is quick to knit and the length and width of the scarf is easy to customize.

Finished measurements:
Length from tip to tip: Approx. 92.5 cm / 36.5”.
Widest part of scarf: Approx. 10 cm / 4.
Gauge:
20 sts x 23 rows/rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in Stockinette stitch on 4mm / US 6 needles flat, after blocking.
Note: Since this is an accessory, getting the exact gauge isn’t critical. A slight variation won’t make a huge difference, just make sure you like the fabric you’re getting.
Needles:
4 mm / US 6: circular needles 60-100 cm / 24- 40” or DPNs.
Notions:
Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
Suggested yarn:
The scarf can be worked with one strand of DK weight yarn, or by holding one strand of fingering weight yarn and lace weight yarn together. You need approx.:
100 m / 109 yds of DK-weight yarn in total
or
100 m / 109 yds of each lace or fingering weight yarn.
