Market Twist Hat is a textured DK-weight hat featuring rhythmic cables worked into a 3x2 rib. The stitch pattern forms a subtle check effect using classic 3-stitch cable techniques — including right-leaning cable crosses (C3R) and compact decreases (C3tog) — that create a clean, architectural texture.

I love ribbed hats with added details like cables to provide interest. They’re easy to gift, stretchy enough to fit a range of sizes, and always satisfying to knit. The length is easy to customize — knit fewer repeats for a fitted look, or add extra for a relaxed slouch, as shown in the sample.
