This marled mitts and headband pattern is worked flat holding two strands of yarn together:

• 1 strand of worsted weight held with 1 strand of sock weight (25–30 oz of worsted weight + 10–15 oz sock weight per pair of mitts or single headband) OR
• 2 strands of DK held together (20–25 oz per color of DK weight per pair of mitts or single headband) OR
• 1 strand of bulky held with 1 strand of sock (40–50 oz of bulky weight + 10–15 oz sock weight per pair of mitts or single headband)

Needles:

• 5 mm (size 8 US) needles (for worsted+sock or DK+DK)
• 6 mm (size 10 US) needles (for bulky+sock)
