Marsha's Pride Henley
You deserve to be comfortable in every situation; yet, the clothes that feel good on our bodies can sometimes don’t look the best. Ditch your fast fashion pullover for this cloud soft Henley with lots of positive ease, drop shoulders, and a finessed fit that looks as elegant as it feels.
Construction
Marsha is worked seamlessly from the bottom up in the round. A modified drop shoulder construction means you’ll work the front and back flat. The shoulders are joined with a 3-needle bind-off before the sleeves are picked up and knit from the shoulder to the wrist.
Optional Bust Shaping
Optional instructions for adding short rows for bust shaping, in four sizes, give you your best fit.

Your best fit
Choose the size closest to your actual upper chest measurement: 31 (34.25, 37.5, 40.75) 44, 47.25, 50.57, 59.25, 61.5) in / 77.5 (86, 94, 102) 110, 118, 12642.5, 148, 154) cm
Upper chest is measured above the full bust, at an angle close to diagonal beneath the underarms, and straight across the back.
Marsha’s Pride is designed to fit with approximately 8 inches / 20 cm of positive ease at the fullest part of your bust.
If you need additional room for the bust, working the optional short row shaping will give you the best fit in the shoulders and armholes, while still making room for your chest. Short rows add length to the front only of the garment, so that the hem does not rise in the front.
Bess is wearing size 2, Cup 1, with 4 inches / 10 cm of positive ease at the full bust and 2 inches / 5 cm of positive ease at the upper arm. Her upper chest is 34.5 inches / 87.5 cm and she is 5’ 3” / 160 cm tall.
Yarn
Sample shown in Camellia Fiber Co. Sōm DK
50% Pima cotton/ 42% baby alpaca/ 8% Merino; 164 yds / 150 m per 50 g skein. This is a hand-dyed, brushed chainette construction yarn. This yarn is very lofty and extra soft. It has far less drape than typically associated with Pima Cotton and Baby Alpaca because of the unique construction.
You can substitute this yarn with a lofty, non-superwash Merino in DK weight, or a combination of Mohair/Suri Lace held together with a sport weight wool.
Yardage (shown in Rainbow Sprinkles): 1226 (1355, 1485, 1614) 1743, 1872, 2001259, 2388, 2517) yds / 1121 (1239, 1358, 1476) 1594, 1712, 1830066, 2183, 2302) m; 8 (9, 10, 10) 11, 12, 134, 15, 16) skeins.
If working the bust darts you will need an additional 15 yds - 120 yds / 14 - 110 m.
