This listing is for the original Olann knitting pattern for the Marta Hoodie, designed in collaboration with @mergegoods.

Please note that this knitting pattern can be bought here as an individual knitting pattern, or as part of the Sunday Morning Kind of Beauty knitting pattern collection. The collection includes the Frankie Toque, Colette Sweater and Marta Hoodie knitting patterns and can be purchased directly from my website.

The Marta Hoodie is a classic balaclava-style knitted topper. Envisioned by Merge and designed by Olann, this is the perfect cold-weather hood, that will keep pesky breezes at bay, and keep you snug on even the coldest days.

This is an intermediate level knitting pattern that uses knit and purl stitches. You’ll also want to be familiar with picking-up stitches, and be open to learning the beautiful Italian bind-off.

Knit using approximately 135m / 148y of light to medium weight yarn, and 270m / 295y of lace weight mohair, you can choose your favourites to knit this gorgeous design.

I recommend using Custom Woollen Mills 2-ply Mule Spinner yarn, held with 2 strands of Essentials Super Kid Mohair and Silk.

You’ll need 8mm (US 11) straight needles, or short circular needles. 8mm (US 11) 20”+ circular needles. 5.5mm (US 9) 16” circular needles, DPNS or Magic Loop. You’ll also need stitch markers, and a darning needle to complete this design. A row counter and felting needle are optional extras. The sizing given is suitable for most adult sized heads.

Don’t hesitate to reach out for knitting support and happy knitting!
