This pattern is available for free on my blog, but you have the option to purchase the ad-free, large print PDF.

Both the black version and the white version use the exact same pattern. However, you will receive 2 PDF’s with your purchase. One has the instructions for the white version and the other has the instructions for the black version. The only difference between the two patterns is changing the instructions from use pink, yellow and blue to use black gradient. I’ve also changed the chart that contains the number of squares to crochet to make the different sizes.

The May Flowers Shawl is made up of granny squares with puff stitch flowers in the center. You can choose any colors you wish for your garden. This pattern is very easy. It’s also thick and oh so warm, which is perfect for those unpredictable Spring temperatures!

The only stitches you need to know are the single crochet, double crochet and the puff stitch. The border is made up of the moss stitch, which is simply single crochets and chains.

This pattern can be altered to fit Youth through 5XL. There’s a chart included for the color pattern if you choose to make yours like the example. A table provides the number of squares needed for each size.

The May Flowers Shawl uses size 4 medium weight yarn and an I/9 (5.25 mm) hook.

Each granny square is 2.5” square.
