McKinnon Beanie is a fun and engaging pattern designed to challenge confident knitters with 2 colour brioche and brioche cables!

The beanie is worked from brim to crown and because brioche has a lot of stretch the three sizes will fit toddler, child/small adult and medium/large adult.

Sizing and fit

Designed to fit approx 45–49 (49.5–53.5, 54–58) cm /
17.75–19.5 (19.5–21.25, 21.25–23)” head circumference
with 4–8 cm / 1.5–3.25” of negative ease.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
A Circumference: 41 (45.5, 50) cm / 16.25 (18, 19.75)”.
B Height (with brim folded): 18.5 (20, 22) cm / 7.25 (8, 8.75)”.
C Height of Brim: 8.5 (9.5, 10.5) cm / 3.25 (3.75, 4)“.

Yarn
4ply / fingering weight wool or wool blend yarn in 2 colours,
100 (120, 150) m / 109 (131, 164) yds of each colour.
Colour 1 is the dominant colour in the main Body of the hat.
Colour 2 is the dominant colour in the Brim

Pink and gold sample is knit with 4ply sock yarns from stash,
with gold as Colour 1 and pink as Colour 2, (BFL/nylon, 400m / 100g).

Navy and teal sample is knit with Dyed by Hand Yarns Blue Chip Stocking (70% superwash Blue Faced Leicester, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere, 200 m / 219 yds – 50g) in colours Teal we meet again as Colour 1 and Hustlers Reef as Colour 2.

Needles
Size A: 3.25mm / US3 40cm / 16” circular needle AND a set of DPNs or a 100cm / 40” circular needle.
Size B: 3.5mm / US4 40cm / 16” circular needle.
