Meán Fómhar (pronounced “van fover”) is the ancient Celtic festival of the Middle Harvest - a time to collect in the fruits of the forest and hedgerows before Winter begins.

This beautiful Lopapeysa-style sweater is knitted in fine Icelandic Lett-Lopi and with its glorious richly coloured yoke it is sure to warm up even the chilliest Autumn day.

Instructions are given for sizes XS - XXL (32-52 inches)

Meán Fómhar is knitted on 4mm and 4.5mm circular needles. 4mm and 4.5mm dpns will be required for the sleeves and for the yoke as the circumference decreases.

The yarn used is Ístex Lett-Lopi. Between 7 & 10 balls of yarn will be required in the main colour, with 1 ball each of the 8 additional colours needed for the colourwork yoke.

Meán Fómhar is the first pattern in the Celtic Calendar Collection by Carianwen Mallabar of The Wildcat Studio.
