A blanket shawl version of my Demelza’s Song shawlette. Inspired by the beautiful Cornish song, “Medhel an Gwyns”, which means ‘Soft is the Wind’, sung by Demelza in the Poldark series.

Thick and cozy, this shawl is the perfect wrap for those end-of-summer bonfires.

Simplistic stockinette stitch is broken up by sections of garter stitch and narrow bands of eyelet lace. A cabled spine runs down the center of the shawl, mirrored by yarn overs, to cleverly incorporate the center increases.
