Colorful pattern with prominent zigzag edges. Skill set required for it: garter stitch, centered decreases and increases. There is just one row with stacked stitches, but those are decreases only.
You can use any combination of solid or gradient colors, or just use a single gradient yarn with shorter color changes (like Noro, for example). Be careful with selfstriping yarn, as it can pool unpredictably. I did make a 2-repeat wide sample with WYS, though… So, WYS works well with this pattern, but I am not sure if any other yarn would do the same.
