Pay What You Can: In order to balance both fair and sustainable pricing and financial accessibility, I now offer a “Pay What You Can” pricing model. I hope that this new model helps to value my and other’s work that’s gone into this pattern while at the same time allowing for financial flexibility for everyone who chooses to purchase it.

The middle price shown below (€10) reflects the fair and sustainable value of the pattern (assuming minimum wage for me as a designer and an average number of copies sold based on surveys I did last year).

In addition to that, you can choose between a few different price points. Simply click on the price you’d like to pay. Please note that Ravelry might add on VAT to that, depending on where you’re based.

€6 | €8 | €10 | €12 | €14

A note on why I chose to also add levels higher than the fair value of the pattern: In order for my knitwear design work to be sustainable, the average pattern sale price needs to equate to the fair and sustainable pattern value. If you choose a price point higher than the “fair” price, you’re helping to make up the difference of one of the lower price points to the “fair” value.

The Memory Lane Socks were designed during my time in San Francisco earlier this year and will forever hold memories of my weeks in the Bay Area. They combine two of my favorite ways to add texture to a pattern: small cables and twisted stitches. A center cable is framed with dia- mond-shaped twisted stitches and mock cables that are echoed on the heel flap and the back of the leg.

They’re knit toe-up with a gusset and heel flap and adjustable foot and leg length to make sure you can knit a pair of socks that really fits you.

The yarn used to design this pattern is Green Mountain Spinnery Sock Art Forest, a blend of 70% Targhee and 30% Tencel® Lyocell. It’s incredibly springy and the addition of Lyocell as a natural strengthener makes sure you’ll be able to wear these socks for years to come.
