Mer
I was inspired to crochet a sailor collar after seeing these breezy sailor collar blouses and dresses on the ”MiuMiu” runway this summer, and “Mer” came along as a simplification of that first prototype. Make this collar in all colors to add some pep to your wardrobe for any season!

difficulty:
- advanced beginner to intermediate (must know chain stitch, slip stitch, double crochet stitch, how to decrease stitches, and how to crochet on the round.)
notes:
-
This pattern uses US terminology.
-
This pattern is worked flat working back and forth in rows, with the tie cuff worked separately in the round.
-
This collar is more close-fitting and not as long or wide as a traditional sewn sailor collar found on dresses/shirts, and is worn more like a kerchief. You can use any DK yarn for this project, I recommend a soft one with not much stretch for best results.
-
The finished collar measures 14 inches wide x 16.5 inches long, 7.5 inches wide at neckline. This pattern has notes where you can lengthen the back portion and/or front ties if you wish to.
