This mermaid tail blanket is knitted in the round, forming a cocoon style blanket. The body is a multi-color scaled stitch with a ribbed tail; the blanket is knit in one piece. With 3 size options this is great for both kids and “grown ups”.

I try to write most of my patterns for inexpensive, durable, and easy to find yarn. Feel free to swap the yarn out for another aran/medium weight yarn of your preference.

Child Size Small: 30” long + tail, 32” opening circumference, 16” bottom circumference… 1 skein each of Caron One Pound & Jumbo
Child Size Large: 45” long, 44” opening circumference, 20” bottom circumference… 2 skeins of Caron One Pound & 1 skein of Caron Jumbo
Adult Size: 60” long + tail, 56” opening circumference, 26” bottom circumference… 2 skeins each of Caron One Pound & Jumbo

I use my interchangeable circulars for this pattern, but base your cable on the opening circumference of the size you’re making for a fixed circular.
