Cute and functional is the best kind of crochet project. This egg collecting apron is perfect for the backyard chicken coop. And the best part about it? There’s no sewing… other than some weaving in of yarn ends (inescapable, I’m afraid). The pockets are made first, and then crocheted into the apron while you work. No seaming required!

The finished apron measures 22” wide, 14” long with a 74” strap, and holds 18 eggs. Exact gauge isn’t necessary, the first pocket should measure approximately 24” wide the base, 31” around the top curve, and 3” high. Adjust your hook size if needed or as desired.

You will need 3 skeins of Lily Sugar’n Cream Super Size cotton yarn, however feel free to use any brand you prefer.
