Metsa Hat
I’m so excited to welcome you! For a limited time, enjoy my exclusive Introductory Offer: - 50%!
Metsa (“Metsa“ means forest in Estonian) hat was inspired by the gentle shapes and layers of leaves in the forest. The brioche stitches twist and curve like veins in a leaf, creating a soft, cozy texture that feels alive in your hands. Simple, soothing, and full of nature’s rhythm — it’s like carrying a bit of the forest wherever you go.
Once you get into the rhythm of it, brioche stitch is no more difficult than basic ribbing. You get to try out a new stitch pattern, and end up with a cute design. It’s a lovely and modern beanie, and is an interesting and pleasant knit that is sure to be an all year round wardrobe staple. Perfect for your next snowy adventure, it is as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear.
This hat is worked in the round from the bottom up, starting with plain brioche rounds, continuing with the body part and ending with the crown.
Two-color brioche is unique and the result is like two different hats - you can wear both sides. Or create an elegant one-color brioche hat

My personal knitting tension is tight. If yours isn’t, consider using perhaps 2.50mm (US 1) for ribbing and 3.00 mm (US 2) needles for body.
Some of my test knitters had difficulty achieving the correct gauge. Consider using smaller needles.
