This hat is knitted in Aran yarn so it’s thick and cosy for winter. I have knitted it using pure wool in a cake that fades from a dark pink to a mauve at the top of the hat, but any aran yarn will be ok for this pattern as long as your guage is correct.

You will need:
100g ball (approx 80 yards) Aran wool. One ball per hat. I have used an Aran fade cake, but it would be lovely in self striping yarn as well.
1pair 4.5mm circular needles or 4 DPN’s 4.5mm
A darning
needle to finish up and tidy up edges
