This pattern is part of the Malabrigo Quickies Program - Special thanks to Alex Tinsley for this opportunity, she is so much fun to work with :)

If you are not familiar with the Malabrigo Quickies Program - it’s a bunch of creative patterns using 1-2 skeins of yarn. My pattern uses 2 skeins. Check out the group Malabrigo Junkies and scan the Quickies 2013 thread :)

My design concept started with the center back panel and then creating the vest around that panel making it appear like a floating pillar. The lace pattern I used is a 2 round repeat making it very easy to remember and it shows off the yarn’s colorway nicely. The armholes are so large allowing you to be able to layer easily. You could wear this over a long sleeve, short sleeve, tank top or even as a swimsuit cover-up. I see Mi Jolie Vest as being very playful, cool yet confident and bit mysterious.

This vest has deep armholes and a very narrow back panel, making this very easy to wear with a lot of ease around the arms and back. The knitted fabric is very stretchy due to the lace and garter stitch border - which has flared increases for ease all around. Once on the front portion on the vest isn’t hindered by the back panel - so you get the full drape around your neck and in front.

Malabrigo Sock Yarn is so soft and super lightweight. It feels luxurious to handle and I love the Rayon Vert colorway. How it changes from this kiwi green to watermelon pink to dark plum and then to darker shade of forest green. Though I have to admit all of the Malabrigo coloways are amazing – any choice you make will be a great pick ☺
