Inspired by the texture and color of sand and water when I was at the lake one day. I was playing with my kids in the sand and I just loved the color differences in the water and also the texture of the sand when the water overlapped it. There’s a vintage feel to the texture of this scarf and makes me think of memories of times past. Shibui Heichi yarn is recycled silk and gives this tweed like texture - after blocking is where it gets super soft and cuddly. Shibui Linen gives the texture of water as it is so fluid. I love this scarf and I have worn it even in the winter because I am usually running errands and getting in & out of the car I don’t like being hot so this is perfect to keep me warm while looking put together.

This scarf/shawl is made in narrow wedges because I wanted the width of a scarf but not the length. There are short rows but no wraps. This scarf is worked up quickly and the stitches are simple garter and stockinette but it looks fabulous.

I just got a note that some of the colorways have been discontinued…

Here are some alternate colorways that may work instead…

Possible Replacement Colors:
Heichi - 2 skeins Fountain, 2 skeins Pollen
Linen - 1 skein of Fjord which is new and 1 skein Caffeine.

or how about some totally different color story

Earthy Story: I loved how big and majestic the trees were when I visited Washington state. It was like being cave made of trees - so beautiful and alive…
Heichi - 2 skeins Spore and 2 skeins Chestnut
Linen - 1 skein of Lime and 1 skein of grounds.

Work Chestnut with Lime for the first half of the circle, then switch and work Spore with Grounds for other half.

Solar Story: Just pure sunshine and the feeling of happiness especially as we welcome in spring with the contrast of shadow and the welcome cool of it…
Heichi - 2 skeins Solar and 2 skeins Steel
Linen - 1 skein of Brass and 1 skein of Ash

Work Steel with Brass for the first half of the circle, then switch and work Solar with Steel for other half.

Red Story: This is a play on the contrast of Brick and Mortar, simple yet really stunning together…
Heichi - 2 skeins Brick and 2 skeins of Sidewalk
Linen - 1 skein of Brick and 1 skein of Sidewalk

Work Brick with Linen Sidewalk for the first half of the circle, then switch and work Heichi Sidewalk with Linen Brick for the other half of the circle.

Plum Story: I love how deep and passionate purple looks and I paired it with a medium grey - it gives a look of velvet with silver.
Heichi - 2 skeins of Graffiti and 2 skeins of Tar
Linen - 1 skein of Mineral and 1 skein of Velvet

Work Tar with Velvet for the first half of the circle, then switch and work Graffiti with Velvet for the other half of the circle.

Bright Color Story: I love the pairing of bright green with bright blue and this one will be great for summer.
Heichi - 2 skeins of Lumen and 2 skeins of Cornflower
Linen - 1 skein Cornflower and 1 skein of Lime

Work using Heichi Cornflower with Lime for the first half of the circle then switch to Lumen and Linen Cornflower for the other half of the circle.

Anyway these are just a few ideas…
