Mickey Mouse Crochet Hat
A crocheted beanie based on Mickey Mouse! I made this for my son for his first trip to Disneyland (see photo). I think it stays pretty true to Mickey’s traditional colour scheme, and looks pretty nice. This is the first pattern I’ve written, so if there are any questions, please feel free to contact me via email at emmiblawrence@gmail.com
The size is estimated. My son is 12 months, but he has quite a large head, and I crocheted this to fit him, so I’m guessing on the traditional sizing. It should be simple enough to size up or down if needed.
The yardage is also estimated. I’m guessing I used maybe 1/4 of a skein of black (~42.5 yds) and 1/10 of a skein of red (~17 yards) This may be an overestimate
I used 2 3.5mm diameter white, four-hole buttons and placed them by eye in the middle of the red section.
I never did a gauge as I don’t really understand gauge (to be honest) and I was under a time constraint (2 days before our trip).
The pattern took me approximately 6 hrs to finish total, through it was broken up over 2 days. It was a quick, fun pattern and would definitely work for a Halloween costume.
