UPDATE: A video stitch tutorial is available for this pattern!

The Midnight Ruana can easily take you from day to night. Pair it with a skirt, jeans or leggings for a casual or dressy look. It’s light and airy enough for warmer weather or would make the perfect layering piece for cooler temperatures.

The pattern uses a two row repeat that contains only double crochets and chains. It comes in three sizes: S/M, L/XL, and 2XL/3XL and is designed to be over sized with a generous bust.

This pattern uses Lion Brand’s Shawl in a Ball in Feng Shui Grey, which is a very thin size 4 medium weight yarn. There are instructions included for adapting the pattern if you choose to use any other brand of size 4 medium weight yarn that happens to be thicker than the Shawl in a Ball. You will also need a J (5.75 mm) crochet hook, measuring tape, a tapestry needle and some stitch markers.

There is only one seam, which is across the top of the shoulders. The sides are tack stitched just below the arm (optional) and the remainder of the sides are left open.
