Midnight Sweater
Presenting a crochet pattern for the Midnight Sweater by Knittybae. This downloadable PDF pattern features an alternation of basic crochet stitches that create an airy, striped mesh effect featuring an off shoulder neckline. The Midnight Sweater is a made-to-measure crochet design - you can follow the provided size or use your own measurements to customize the fit exactly how you like. Each step includes notes and tips to help you adjust the sizing as needed.
This pattern is provided in English and uses American crochet shorthand/abbreviations. This document spans 28 pages and includes instructive images to further help you pursuit your goal result.
Recommended Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and above.
Pattern uses following crochet stitches: single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), 3 double crochet cluster (3dc-cl).
CONSTRUCTION OF THE SWEATER
The Midnight Sweater is worked seamlessly in rounds, from the top down. You’ll start by making a chain long enough to comfortably sit around your shoulders, then work increases to shape the body and sleeves.
Once the increases are complete, the body and sleeves are separated and each is continued individually, still in the round. When you reach your desired length, finish your sweater with ribbing – crocheted or knitted, depending on your preference – at the sleeves, neckline, and bottom hem for a polished final touch.

YARN RECOMMENDATIONS:
You can use any yarn of your choice, such as cotton, wool or acrylic,
Choose a crochet hook that feels comfortable for you, but I recommend staying within the 4 – 8 mm range to keep the original look and feel of the design,
Feel free to mix 2 or 3 strands of different yarn weights to create your own unique version of this sweater – just make sure the yarns work well with the hook size you’re using.
( e.g. To make a Deep Blue sample sweater I’ve used approx. 1000 m of yarn with 6 mm crochet hook and two strands of Fine weight (no. 2) yarn held together: DROPS Flora in shade 10 Indigo. To make a Grey fitted sweater I’ve used approx. 900 m of yarn with 5 mm crochet hook and one strand of Light weight (no. 3) yarn: DROPS Paris in shade 24 Dark Grey.)
Please feel free to share your finished garment on Social Media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest), tagging me @knittybae and using the hashtag #knittybae and #midnightsweater.
