Mighty Knighty hat
This is a playful, pointy hat worked top down with clean stripes and a cozy fit. The hat features a distinctive crown shape, a snug ribbed forehead band, and ear-covering sides that flow into long I-cord ties finished with tassels.
Designed to be both practical and whimsical, it keeps ears warm while adding a bold, graphic touch thanks to the striped colorwork.
Perfect for using contrasting colors and scrap yarn, creating a fun statement piece for colder days. For more minimal look, the hat can also be made in a single color - instruction for the solid version are included separately in the pattern.
Pattern:
The hat is worked top down from the crown with symmetrical increases for a pointy shape. After reaching the required stitch count, it is worked in the round, with a marked front section in 1x1 ribbing forming the forehead band. The front edge is finished with an Italian bind-off. The remaining stitches are worked flat to shape the ear covering, followed by ribbing and an attached I-cord to create the ties.
