Mikey Muffin and Clara Cupcake are some members of the Small Potato Knitwear Little Buddies amigurumi collection! This pattern shows you how to make them both, and a whole bakery’s worth of friends to join them! It includes instructions for the basic shapes needed for both snacky friends, a photo tutorial on changing color for the cupcake “wrapper”, and instructions for the add-on “blueberries” (or whatever berry or chocolate add-ons you want to make!) for Mikey and his muffin buddies.

This pattern can be made with any size yarn and the appropriate hook. I have made it with worsted weight yarn and an H or I hook, as well as super bulky yarn and an L hook.

You’ll need one or two colors of yarn (or more, if you’d like), some type of stuffing (I recommend PolyFil or something similar, or some yarn or fabric scraps), a crochet hook, a yarn or finishing needle, and optional safety eyes. These are small projects, and don’t take up much yarn, especially with lighter weight yarns, which makes them a great stashbuster project! Make your favorite type of muffin, and explore icing colors with your cupcakes!
