Presenting the Mille Top, born from a idea, a delightful summer top with a high neckline, offering the perfect blend of comfort and movement without feeling overly loose. Tired of the conventional ribbed trims, I sought a unique touch and a crochet scalloped edge was just the thing it needed.

As I thought of a name for this creation, a inspiration struck me – my silly and beloved dog, Mille. Naming it after her felt like a natural choice. She was all about comfort and wanted to be free to move.

The Mille Top has already become a favorite, and I can’t wait to knit many more, cherishing its essence as a reminder of my dear four-legged friend, now in heaven.

Pattern workflow:

Mille top is worked from the top down. Casting on for the back neck, left and right leaning increases are made on both right and wrong side rows to shape the back neck and shoulders. The increases are placed for a decorative effect. The back is the worked to the armhole, and placed om hold. Then the front shoulders are picked up along the newly shaped shoulders, the fronts are worked separately and stitches are casted on for the neckline, the shoulders are joined and worked same as the back. Here the worked is joined in the round, with underarm stitches. The body is worked in in the round. Hem, armhole trim and neckband are worked with a crochet hook, in a scalloped edge pattern.
