I love simple things!
And when I had worked this diamond-laced shawl that I had dreamt about making for such a long time I found it truly beautiful!
But I also like a feminine, romantic style. AND flowers! I crocheted a few flowers to try out the look - and fell totally in love with the lace-shawl bordered by simple flowers. So soft, cute, feminine, romantic!
I find it so versatile: it adds a touch of femininity to your daily jeans-wear as well as enough flair to complete a dress or tailored suit. There are many ways in which you can wear the shawl. Be inspired by my photos or find your own way to drape it around your neck.
The shawl is knitted bottom-up and back and forth. There are no difficult stiches, but it is a good help to use a row-counter. The flowers are crocheted and seamed to the shawl afterwards.
I give you both row-by-row instructions and a chart to work the shawl, and instructions on how to make the flowers.
The shawl has a traditional triangular shape. You can adjust the size to your liking. It is as beautiful without the borders as with all the flowers to the edge. The flowers could be crocheted in a contrasting color, or maybe even different shades to match. It’s up to you to decide!
I used the soft and gorgeous Superfine Alpaca from Ilóyarn to work this shawl.
This pattern is available in an english version and a swedish version.
