This pattern is also available in Clare’s Knit Club - The Mindfulness Edit, a curated collection of 4 knitting patterns inspired by the same floral lace motif.

The Mindfulness Shawl is worked flat from the top centre outwards, beginning with a modified garter tab cast-on.

The first section is worked in garter stitch, creating plenty of straightforward, repetitive knitting while the shawl begins to grow.

From there, the fabric changes to stocking stitch before moving through a short garter transition and into a simple lace pattern.

The final section is a deeper lace border, where the increases stop and the shape of the shawl begins to soften into slightly rounded corners. The pattern ends with a delicate micro picot cast-off.

It’s a project with several distinct stages, so the experience changes as you knit. There are long stretches where you can settle into an easy rhythm, followed by lace sections that invite a little more concentration.

Both written and charted instructions are included for the lace sections, along with progress keepers to help you keep track of the repeated rows and stitch counts as the shawl grows.
