About this study
Mini Derroterro is part of the Navigation Companion: Mini Garment Studies series — a collection of learning-focused patterns designed to explore garment construction at reduced scale.
This study focuses on stranded colourwork behaviour.
Through calm, repeating geometric motifs, knitters can examine:
• float tension and management
• colour dominance
• motif rhythm
• how colourwork interacts with shaping
• the relationship between surface pattern and structure
The garments are worked using full garment logic, including body shaping, sleeve construction, and finishing techniques — allowing colourwork to be studied within a realistic architectural framework.
