Say hi to this sweet little Mallard Duck — pocket-sized, satisfying to make, and just the right combination of familiar and challenging.

He’s made from scrap amounts of worsted weight yarn and comes together quickly. What makes him special is the optional wings, which use a variety of techniques to create a realistic feathered look. There are two distinct wing patterns (one for each side) so he always looks his best. No wrong-side wings for Mini Mallard.

The wings lean intermediate, using extended stitches, stacked stitches, and a unique hook placement to get the shaping right.
