You’re learning to knit, but don’t know what to knit? Maybe you’ve put some stitches on the needle and made a few wash cloths, but want to practice the knit stitch a bit more before learning anything new?

Here’s your chance! This pattern is perfect, with videos linked to help you knit through the scarf and knitting jargon NOT included! (yes, it’s all written in long-hand!)

This is a printable, pdf download.

Who is this for?
This pattern is for first time knitters who are looking for easy knits to practice the basics. This pattern takes just a single ball of yarn, and uses the knit stitch, with casting on, casting off and minimal sewing.

Why do you need it?
Practicing the basics is a great way to learn to understand your knitting, enjoy using the yarn, and see that you can create useful finished items to be proud of.

You’ll need a pair of single-pointed knitting needles, size 5mm
1 ball 50g aran (worsted) weight yarn.
