You can use any yarn weight or type to make this hat. Here’s
a guide for the approximate finished size using different yarn
and hook sizes:

DK (#3) weight yarn with a 4mm hook:
Height: 8.5cm/3.25”, Width: 8.5cm/3.25”, Inner Diameter: 3.8cm/1.5“
(Ideal for: key rings/bag charms, or hair clips)

Aran/Worsted (#4) weight yarn with a 5mm hook:
Height: 10cm/4”, Width: 10cm/4”, Inner Diameter: 4.5cm/1.75”
(Ideal for: bottle toppers, cats or small to medium dogs, kid’s
heads)

Chunky/Bulky (#5) weight yarn with a 6mm hook:
Height: 14cm/5.5”, Width: 14cm/5.5”, Inner Diameter: 6.5cm/2.5”
(Ideal for: large dogs, or teen/adult heads)

You will need:
Any weight yarn - approx. 42yds for the hat, 4 yds for the hatband, 1yd for the buckle (keep to the same yarn weight for
the hat and hatband).
Suitable hook size for your chosen yarn,
Stitch marker,
Yarn needle,
Scissors.

Optional Extras: Keyring attachment to make a keyring or bag charms. Headband, click clack hair clips, or elastic cord chin strap to wear on heads.
