This simple and comfortable oversize top is knit seamlessly top down. There are no short rows or difficult techniques so it’s relaxing for experienced knitters and suitable for beginners.

The neckline and saddle shoulders are knitted first, then the front and back are worked separately to the underarm and continued in the round from the underarm to the neat folded bottom hem.

This is a simple and forgiving design. Choose a size that would fit you with a lot of positive ease (15-25 cm / 6-10 inches). Even if your gauge is (slightly) off, you will most likely end up with a very wearable oversize garment.

The sample was knit in size L with Gosho Sangyo New Melange Linen (65% rayon, 35% linen; 59 m/65 yd per 25 g). It fits with about 20 cm (8 inches) of positive ease.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm (US 4) 80 cm (32”) circular needles, adjust size if necessary.

GAUGE
22 sts x 33 rows per 10 cm (4”) in stockinette stitch with 3.5 mm (US 4) needles, after blocking.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
2.3 mm (size B) crochet hook, stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn or stitch holders.
