This pattern details how to make a market bag using triple stitches and the corner-to-corner crochet technique. It includes a table of contents, an intro to the C2C technique, diagrams on how the bag is constructed, many photos, and some notes on how to modify the pattern to create a slightly smaller bag. I also include notes on adding wooden handles or crocheted straps.

I recommend this for beginner to intermediate crocheters. This is a fun project which should work up pretty quickly once you’ve got the hang of the technique. With the recommended yarn and gauge, it should produce a large market shoulder bag that measures 18 inches across. The bag will have a lot of stretch in it and should fit all the shopping you can lift!

Required crochet skills:
---triple crochet (tr)
---chain (ch)
---slip stitch (slst)
---single crochet (sc)

Suggested yarn: 430-450 yds of Bernat Handicrafter 100% Cotton (medium weight - 4)

Suggested crochet hook: 5mm / US H-8

Gauge: Each set of 4 x triples = 1.25 inch x 1.25 inch or 3cm x 3cm Final bag width = 18 inches or 46cm

I have included metric and imperial measurements where possible, notes for left-handed crocheters, and extensive descriptions which I hope will be helpful to visually impaired crocheters.
