This is an 11-page PDF that details how to make a market bag using corner-to-corner crochet and split single crochet/waistcoat stitch. It includes a table of contents, many photos, instructions on how to work C2C crochet in the round, and notes on how to modify the pattern for smaller bags. (The pattern produces a market bag that’s 12 inches high, 10 inches across, and 3 inches deep.)

It’s designed to stretch and carry a lot of groceries! Smaller versions of this bag also make good handbags.

I recommend this for intermediate crocheters.

Required crochet skills/techniques:
--Single crochet (sc)
--Double crochet (dc)
--Chain (ch)
--Slip stitch (slst)
--Waistcoat/split single crochet (ssc)
--How to work stitches in back post

Suggested yarn:
--Aster & Vine 2.5mm Variegated Braided Cord (Bulky weight – 5)
--250g/9oz - 260m/850ft (2 skeins)

Suggested crochet hook: 5.75mm crochet hook (US size J-10)

I have included metric and imperial measurements where possible, and extensive descriptions which I hope will be helpful to visually impaired crocheters. Left-handed crocheters may note that the bag is symmetrical and working the pattern as-is will produce the same result as right-handed crocheters.
