A simple scrap blanket that will keep you warm and occupied during quarantine. Perfect for a twin bed, sofa throw, or lap blanket while watching Netflix.

It is not so important that you meet gauge on this project. In fact, my gauge changes several times throughout the blanket. I measured the gauge on the grey sections, or the places where the yarn weight most generically matched the hook size. However, because the blanket is made using several strands of yarn and yarn of multiple different sizes, the gauge will wiggle regardless. The blanket is called MISFIT for a reason. I’ve chosen to embrace the uneven, wild quality it presents.

The yarns I have suggested are the max weight to meet gauge and the goal weight you want to achieve when holding multiple strands. It might be a good idea to start there if you are purchasing yarn for the project. MISFIT does use multiple weights, however, so by all means do not limit yourself!

My blanket is very heavy and warm and is made with yarn from skeins that cost between $3 and $35. They all come together beautifully! Try not to put too much pressure on yourself when adding colors. Let inspiration take you.
